Calibration is basically a process of comparison. In this process an instrument is used to measure or is measured by calibration standard, and the results is compared to two things. It is essentially the measurement of known value and uncertainty of the standard and the performance specifications required by the customer. Each calibration process is documented, validated and controlled by a method of making comparisons.
